Home Energy Emergency Assistance: Important Dates & Eligibility
At Native American Advancement Corporation, we are committed to supporting our community through every season. As we prepare for the upcoming emergency assistance period, please note the following:
- Emergency applications will be accepted starting March 16th.
Applications submitted before this date will not be processed for emergency assistance. - Emergency Season: March 16th – June 30th
- You must have a completed application in the Home Energy Assistance (HEA) system, with credit issued.
- You must have a utility shut-off notice dated within 60 days of your application.
- If you are currently on a payment plan with your utility company and enrolled in the Fresh Start program (eligible once every 5 years), you do NOT qualify for emergency assistance.
- Up to $800 for heating emergencies
- Up to $300 for non-heating electric emergencies
- Your utility bill
- Your shut-off notice
The amount listed on your shut-off notice is the amount we will submit for emergency assistance. If your shut-off notice exceeds the maximum allowed amount, you will receive the maximum ($800 for heating, $300 for non-heating electric).
